COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Over 100 employees at the PepsiCo Beverages Sales building in Columbia are set to be laid off, according to a WARN report filed Tuesday.

According to the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, PepsiCo Beverages Sales LLC, a subsidiary of food and beverage magnate PepsiCo, listed 105 employees as permanent layoffs on Aug. 28.

The filing was made in compliance with the WARN Act, a federal law that requires most private employers with 100 or more full-time workers to provide 60 days’ advance written notice before a plant closing or a mass layoff.

The WARN documents show the workers’ last day will be Oct. 18.

In 2014, the plant ceased full production of PepsiCo products, instead transforming it into a distribution site.

PepsiCo Beverages U.S. released a statement to WIS regarding the potential layoffs:

“PepsiCo Beverages U.S. is shifting how warehouse logistics are managed at our Columbia, South Carolina facility to continue to support our customers and consumers in the area; the site will remain open and fully operational. We are committed to treating impacted employees with the utmost care, including assistance with applying to work with the new logistics provider and offering pay and benefits continuation based on their years of service, along with transition assistance and career support.”
