‘Not presidential’: Andrews responds to Trump referring to her by anti-trans slur
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina U.S. Senate race between Democrat Annie Andrews and Republican Darline Graham, considered one of the most closely watched contests in the country, is drawing national attention after President Donald Trump weighed in Monday night.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump endorsed Graham while criticizing Andrews, using derogatory language targeting the Democratic challenger and urging South Carolinians to support Graham.

Andrews responded to the attack in a statement to NBC News.
“I’m a mom and a pediatrician; I’m in this race to fight for my patients, my three kids, and South Carolina,” Andrews posted.
As a mom and a pediatrician, I’m in this race to fight for my patients, my three kids, and South Carolina. And I’m going to work with anyone to put South Carolina first, because lowering costs and making life better for families across our state is going to take all of us working together. If you care more about your bills than the politics in Washington, this campaign is for you.

Andrews elaborated further at a campaign event in Columbia on Tuesday, calling Trump’s post “not presidential.”
“If name-calling would help lower gas prices and grocery prices, he can call me all the names he wants,” she said. “But I don’t think that’s going to get the job done.”
