STD diagnosis for girl leads to criminal sexual conduct arrest
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A girl's diagnosis for a sexually-transmitted disease led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man on a charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Larry Gene Hunter of Newberry was arrested on Tuesday.
Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster tells WIS investigators were contacted by the girl's mother and the Department of Social Services.
The girl was taken to a Newberry-area doctor's office for a health issue and the doctor determined she had a sexually-transmitted disease. Foster said when the doctor talked to the victim about it, she admitted that she had been "inappropriately touched" by Hunter.
Foster says Hunter is accused of touching the girl inappropriately several times during the month of June.
Hunter is being held at the Newberry County Detention Center.
