FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS this weekend for tropical downpours, gusty winds from Isaias

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Isaias will bring tropical moisture and gusty winds to South Carolina this weekend, because of this we have two First Alert Weather Days issued.

First Alert Headlines:

• Cool, partly cloudy, and dry tonight.
• Thursday is warm, Friday is cloudier with upper 70s.
• Tropical rain moves in Saturday and into Sunday making them First Alert Weather Days.

First Alert Summary:

Tonight will be cool with partly cloudy skies. Highs pressure to our north will keep us dry and lows will once again be in the low 50s.

Thursday will also be dry with just a few clouds. High temperatures reach the mid 80s as the high to our north and east holds on.

Clouds start rolling in Friday as the moisture from Isaias moves into the region. Expect cloudier skies and cooler temps because of the cloud coverage. Highs are in the upper 70s.

The timing of the arrival of the rain is still in question. But models have consistently shown the rain beginning sometime Saturday. We’ve bumped up our chances of rain to 70%. Winds will gust up to 25 to 30mph into the afternoon hours. Because of this we have put a First Alert Weather Day on Saturday. High temps are in the low 70s.

The best chance of rain still seems to be overnight at 80%. There’s even a chance of a few storms as well. Low temps are in the upper 60s.

Sunday is a First Alert Weather Day, some of the models show the heaviest rain moving out of the region Sunday but that could change dependent on the track of Isaias. Expect a 70% chance of rain showers and breezy winds Sunday. Highs are in the low 80s.

Around 1 to 3″ of rain is possible over the weekend.

Monday looks drier with lows near 61 and highs reaching the mid 80s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the low and mid-80s.

Friday: Cloudy. Highs in the upper-70s.

First Alert Weather Day Sunday: Rounds of rain throughout the day, especially in the morning. Chance of rain 70%. Highs in the upper-70s.

Monday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid-80s.
