COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Nearly 8,000 new Gamecocks are stepping onto USC’s campus for their first class this fall, along with roughly 40,000 returning students, and with that comes improvement plans.

University officials say their USC Next master plan hopes to improve on the following:

  • Reinvigorate the historic campus core.
  • Improve the student life experience.
  • Reimagine the school’s research footprint.
  • Create a new health sciences campus.

WIS sat down with USC Board Chairman Thad Westbrook to talk about campus growth and academic changes this fall.
