First Alert Headlines:

  • Not as hot or as humid compared to the start of this week.
  • Rain chances pick up Friday afternoon.
  • Slightly cooler with rain chances lingering this weekend.

First Alert Summary:

A weak, summertime cold front dropped in overnight, bringing the Midlands subtle relief to the heat and humidity. This afternoon, under a mostly sunny sky, high temperatures will reach the upper-90s. Factoring in the humidity, it’ll feel as hot as 102 degrees.

As we reach the peak heat of the day, a stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. This rain chance is low (20%), so most of the region will stay dry and hot all day.

Although it remains hot and humid, compared to our stretch of First Alert Weather Days, it’ll feel cooler outside through the end of this week. “Feels-like” temperatures will hover between 100 and 105 degrees through Friday afternoon.
