INTERVIEW: Finding affordable care across SC
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Whether it’s childcare, caring for an aging parent, or simply supporting a loved one with a disability, people across the state are feeling the strain as the cost of care continues to rise, leaving many with more questions than answers when it comes to meeting those needs.
A community conversation is taking place during the Care Crisis and Affordability of Care Town Hall on Thursday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Orangeburg Conference Center.
It’s a free event that aims to help the public find the resources they need to make sure their loved ones get the care they need.
Maria Reyes, South Carolina State Director for Care in Action and the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Sue Berkowitz, Director of Policy at the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center, joined WIS to talk about the issue.
Below is part 2 of our interview.
