Low-hanging wires on U.S. 1 force traffic detour in West Columbia

WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says low-hanging wires are blocking U.S. 1 in West Columbia.
Trooper David Jones tells WIS a traffic crash Thursday morning involving a utility pole caused the wires to hang low over U.S. 1 near Wattling Road.
Jones says traffic is being diverted onto Delree Street. The road is expected to be blocked for about an hour while utility crews remove the wires.
