LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) - A man from Augusta was convicted by a Lexington County jury this month for trafficking methamphetamine.
A judge sentenced Angelo Allen, 41, to 25 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections on Oct. 8. According to Eleventh Circuit Solicitor Rick Hubbard, Allen’s sentence is the minimum for his offense.
Allen was pulled over on I-20 in Lexington County while he was traveling from Augusta to Lexington on March 12, 2025. Law enforcement found 491 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle under the passenger seat.
Allen was the only person in the vehicle, and the vehicle was registered in his name.
The jury heard Allen say in his testimony that he was traveling from Georgia to Lexington County for a drug transaction, Hubbard said.
Allen has previous criminal history of drug, gun and aggravated assault convictions in Georgia. He was on probation for aggravated assault.
