COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Board of Trustees approved a change to head football coach Shane Beamer’s employment agreement during Friday’s meeting.

Beamer’s salary and the remaining years on his contract, which runs through Dec. 31, 2030, remain unchanged.

The board signed off on an amendment that changes the source of some of Beamer’s supplemental compensation. It will go into an LLC created by the coach instead of going to him directly.

That allows the athletics department to avoid paying certain fringe benefit costs on that amount annually.

The LLC will license back all of Beamer’s intellectual property for television and radio shows and commercial endorsements.
