COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Hank is a 5-year-old Terrier mix available for adoption through Pawmetto Lifeline’s Shelter Diversion Program.
A few weeks ago, Hank showed up at a kind family’s home underweight and unsure of the world. Since then, he’s been making an incredible comeback—filling out, gaining confidence, and discovering just how great it is to be part of a loving home.
Even after all Hank has been through, he is a super sweet, affectionate dog. He loves being close to his people and getting lots of cuddles as often as possible. Hank is very friendly with everyone he meets and always has a gentle, happy energy about him. Hank also loves walks, spending time in the yard, and playing with toys!
Hank is very smart and eager to learn. He is highly motivated by treats and praise. He already knows lots of great commands like sit, wait, and back up. Hank walks nicely on a leash and loves his crate!
Hank is the perfect match for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will happily be your shadow and best friend. He would be a great family dog and has done well with children of all ages and dogs!
When Hank was found, he tested heartworm positive due to a lack of proper care in his previous life. He has already started the proven slow-kill treatment, which Pawmetto Lifeline will cover until he tests negative!
You can meet Hank at Pawmetto Lifeline this Friday & Saturday, May 1 & 2, during walk-in adoption hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by appointment during the week. His reduced adoption fee of $50 includes his neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccines.
