COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Cleo is a 2-year-old Terrier mix available for adoption through Pawmetto Lifeline’s Shelter Diversion Program.

Cleo was found by a Good Samaritan, very malnourished and scavenging food from a dumpster. Based on her body condition, it’s believed Cleo was likely bred and had at least one litter before rescue. Thankfully, those days are behind her! She is healthy and thriving in foster care with the amazing human who found her. Cleo deserves love, stability, and a forever family!

Despite everything she’s been through, Cleo is 73 pounds of pure love and affection! She is incredibly sweet and super silly! She is truly a gentle giant. Her favorite place to be is right next to a human. She is the kind of dog that just can’t get close enough and will crawl right in your lap! Most days she’s a low-key couch potato, but she also gets playful bursts of energy and has the cutest zoomies when she’s excited!

Cleo loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. She gets along beautifully with the other dogs in her foster home. They wrestle, play tug, zoom around the yard, and nap side by side. She has shown absolutely no aggression with food and toys, and even shares food bowls without any issues. She has also done wonderfully with children, including little ones.

Cleo has adjusted quickly to home life and has excellent house manners. She already knows how to sit! She is potty trained and even knows to go to the door when she needs to go out. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate with no barking or whining. Cleo is very food-motivated, eager to please, and responds well to positive reinforcement. In public settings like a restaurant patio, she’s calm and content and often just settles near the table.

Cleo is a sweet, resilient girl with a big heart! She’s ready to find a loving, forever home where she can finally feel safe and cherished.
