Furry Friends Friday - Lucky
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Lucky is a 3-year-old Walker Hound mix available for adoption at Pawmetto Lifeline.
Lucky was brought in by a Good Samaritan after being found roaming in a rural area about a month ago. He was very emaciated and had wounds on his legs. Lucky was microchipped, but his owner said he was “just a hunting dog” and never came to pick him up. Lucky deserves to be a true family member!
Lucky is incredibly happy despite everything he has been through. He is always prancing around and wagging his tail. Lucky is very sweet and affectionate. He loves people and enjoys being petted. The boy does not have a mean bone in his body!
Lucky is energetic, playful, and full of life. He runs around the yard with his nose to the ground, taking in every scent. He shows classic hound traits and loves to explore, track smells, and follow his curiosity. He is a big, silly goofball who brings smiles wherever he goes.
Lucky is currently living in Pawmetto Lifeline’s shelter. He is discovering love, toys, affection, soft blankets, and regular meals for the first time. Each day gets better for him, and it shows! Imagine how happy he will be when he feels the love of a true, forever family.
Lucky has not been formally tested with other dogs yet, but he has shown only positive reactions through kennels or fences. He would love to meet your dog! A home without cats is likely best, as he is a hunting dog and has shown strong excitement around cats.
Lucky is heartworm positive due to a lack of proper medical care in his previous home. He has already started the proven slow-kill treatment, which Pawmetto Lifeline will cover until he tests negative!
