Furry Friends Friday - Millie

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Millie is a 2-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix available for adoption at Pawmetto Lifeline.

A Good Samaritan found Millie earlier this year as a stray in Lower Richland, an area that is well-known for dogs being dumped. She was extremely pregnant and desperate for help. Just a few days after being found, Millie had 7 beautiful puppies. They have all found homes, and now Mama is ready to find her forever family!

Millie is a sweet, silly, and happy girl who loves life and adores being near her people. Whether you’re walking around the house, heading outside, or just relaxing, she’ll be right by your side—being close to you makes her feel safe and content. Millie has a playful, goofy personality that’s sure to keep you smiling. She has a very affectionate nature and a joyful spirit. She walks nicely on a leash, enjoys spending time in the yard watching the world go by, and loves playtime. Toys are one of her favorite things! She’s friendly with people of all kinds, including children. She is a great size, around 42 pounds. Millie will make a wonderful companion and a loyal best friend.

Millie is very smart and curious. She needs a family that can provide lots of exercise and enrichment to keep her engaged. Millie would love an active family who enjoys walks, playtime, and of course, lots of cuddles. Millie knows several fun tricks like sit, paw, and stand up, and is eager to learn more, especially if treats are involved. She can also catch treats in her mouth! Millie is crate-trained and enjoys her crate as a comfy, safe space. Millie is working on her potty training and making great progress with a routine. Millie has done well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friend to play with!

You can meet Millie this Friday and Saturday (October 31 & November 1) during Pawmetto Lifeline’s walk-in adoption hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by appointment during the week. Millie’s reduced adoption fee of $50 includes her spay, microchip, and up-to-date vaccines.
