Annual golf classic returns to raise funds for cancer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The McDaniels Auto Group Golf Classic and Gala is returning to the Midlands to benefit the Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s McDaniels-Pucci Cancer Fund.

The annual classic will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 19 at the Fort Jackson Golf Club. The gala will be held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Pastides Alumni Center and will be emceed by WIS’ anchors Judi Gatson and Billie Jean.

The tournament will begin with a breakfast and opening remarks at the Clubhouse and will end with an awards dinner. The event will include games, prizes, food and local craft beer tastings.

Officials said the event has raised more than $3,200,000 for life-saving cancer programs and services since it was first held in 2018.

The funds raised will help enhance cancer care at Lexington Medical Center and will be used to assist all cancer patients from day one of detection to survivorship after ringing the bell.
