Mississippi couple gets married in Wal-Mart

HERNANDO, MISSISSIPPI (NBC) - A wedding at a Wal-Mart? It's happened in Northwest Mississippi, and the bride had her reasons.

There were wedding guests - flowers, a cake, and even wedding crashers if you count the Wal-Mart shoppers who stumbled upon the ceremony at the store in Hernando, which is about 26 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee.

Candi Wagoner and Brent Grantham got married in the lawn-and-garden department, and the bride said she chose the store as the setting for her wedding - in part because the couple got engaged there. "He proposed to me in this Wal-Mart in November of last year, and did it over the intercom ... and had flowers and music and everyone was involved, taking pictures."

The bride said the store manager invited the couple to get married there because he was "smitten" by the marriage proposal.
