Driver dies, kids wearing seatbelts survive Hwy 215 crash

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The driver of a 2002 Chrysler 300 who was killed on Highway 215 on Monday afternoon was not wearing a seatbelt, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres said the crash happened around 2:31 p.m. when the driver lost control of the car, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as 66-year-old Juanita Broome of Winnsboro. She died at the scene.
Two other passengers in the car, a 7-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, were wearing their seatbelts.
The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
