FIRST ALERT: Trending more humid, hotter for Father’s Day Sunday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Our Father’s Day forecast will feature more humid, hotter conditions along with a slight chance of a pop-up shower.

First Alert Summary:

A nice, comfortable evening will shape up for the Midlands as dry air remains in place for now. Clouds will hang overhead early tonight before gradually clearing out towards morning. Expect low temperatures to drop to the upper 60s.

Southerly flow will result in more humid and slightly hotter conditions for Father’s Day Sunday. High temperatures are forecast to peak in the lower 90s, which is seasonable for this time of year. There is also a slight chance of a pop-up shower during the afternoon with the returned moisture, but most locations will stay dry.

A typical summertime weather pattern looks likely for the majority of next week. A daily chance of showers or thunderstorms will exist, mainly during the afternoon/evening hours, along with it feeling hot and humid.

In incoming front will stay to increase the chance of rain by the beginning of the upcoming week. An isolated strong storm threat may develop as the front begins to drop in. The Storm Prediction Center has outlooked most of the Midlands under a ‘Marginal 1/5 Risk’ for this low-end potential.
