The Senate has followed the House of Representatives in overturning Gov. Nikki Haley's veto of the farm bill, which would provide up to $40 million worth of aid to farmers after last year's devastating floods.
By a vote of 39 - 3, the farm bill found a wealth of support from the Senate to push the bill through the legislature and past Haley's veto pen.
In her veto message, Haley said farmers have plenty of options to pay for most of their losses and they shouldn't get aid that was not available to all small businesses.
