School supply deals can be better than Black Friday
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Last minute back-to-school deals will last a couple more weeks. But now is the time to buy for the entire school year.
Jenny Martin of Southern Savers says once the specials end, they'll be done until this time next year.
Several stores will price match your back-to-school supplies. Martin finds that Staples is offering the greatest advantage to shoppers by offering 100% matching.
Shoppers should not miss the top sales. In fact, this is the best time of the year to buy computers and tablets - with deals better than even Black Friday. Martin says several stores push the pens and pencils for pennies, but electronics will sell for better prices now than during other hot shopping periods.
Be sure you figure out the real deals and don't get pulled into a store to buy one cheap item but then pay too much for others.
Martin also recommends we buy enough to be able to also donate school supplies. Several stores like Publix and Walmart have bins stationed at the door where you can drop off supplies for teachers and students who are on a tighter budget.
