Lanes reopen on I-26 West after vehicle catches fire

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Traffic is flowing smoothly on I-26 West after a vehicle that caught on fire caused delays Monday morning.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said the vehicle on fire was located at mile marker 130, which is near the interchange for Highway 21.

While responding crews quickly reopened some of the westbound lanes on I-26 to keep traffic from slowing to a standstill, the right lane remained closed for about three hours before the scene was cleared.

No information on how the car caught fire or the conditions of any people involved has been released at this time.
