Cosmetic dentistry, no matter what the procedure, has numerous benefits. These benefits fall into a number of different categories. First of all, many cosmetic dentistry procedures can help you improve your health. Second, cosmetic dentistry can help you improve your appearance by repairing painful and unsightly dental problems. This can help you improve the way that you feel about yourself and your self confidence, and can also help improve your social and professional life.

Here are the benefits of a number of different cosmetic dentistry procedures: --porcelain veneers --composite fillings --dental implants --dental crowns --Invisalign

1. Porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are a way that you can improve any minor aesthetic problems that you are having with your teeth. Examples of some things that porcelain veneers can improve are stains on your teeth, cracks on your teeth, any chips on your teeth, and other minor problems.

When a cosmetic dentist applies porcelain veneers, they bond thin and sculpted layers of material to your teeth. This material is designed to be the color of teeth, along with the surface texture and the appearance of teeth.

2. Composite fillings

Gone are the days when you have to have a mouth full of silver that everyone can see as soon as you speak. Composite fillings are the color of your teeth. Composite fillings can be used for any tooth in a state of decay from small to medium sized cavities. Layers of composite are bonded into your teeth, either where the silver filling is or where there is tooth decay. Composite fillings not only look better, they also help strengthen your teeth.

3. Dental implants

Dental implants can be used to help anyone who is missing a number of their teeth, or even all of their teeth. This can be an important cosmetic dentistry procedure that will not only help you improve your self confidence and appearance, but can be an important step for you to make for your oral health.

Dental implants are made of a titanium alloy. This titanium alloy is shaped into an artificial tooth root, which is then put into your jawbone and the soft tissue in your mouth. After the dental implant is surgically put in your mouth, the bone and the gum will grow around it. At that point, a dental crown is put on top of the dental implant.

While dental implants are a major surgery and thus have major surgery related pain and recovery time, they can be a great option for anyone who is missing a lot of their teeth and are suffering accordingly.

4. Dental crowns

If you have a tooth that is seriously decayed, any teeth that are unbearably sensitive, or if you have a root canal performed, then receiving a dental crown is a great option for you. A dental crown is a tooth colored and tooth shaped piece of porcelain or metal or both. This is then placed over your tooth to protect your tooth and to prevent any further damage. 5. Invisalign Have you always wanted your teeth to be straight, but you don't want the awkwardness and image associated with braces? Invisalign is a new way for you to straighten your teeth without any of the pain or discomfort or appearance that comes along with braces. Invisalign uses transparent plastic to align your teeth. These aligners are almost completely invisible. You wear them all the time, and take them out only when you eat or drink. Because Invisalign aligners are molded just for you, you will receive a new one every few weeks to continue to improve your teeth.
