Former SC Highway Patrol director charged with criminal domestic violence

LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) - Authorities say on Thursday at approximately 2:15am, officers with the Lexington Police Department responded to a residence on Palmer Drive in Lexington in reference to a domestic dispute.

As the officer arrived, and began approaching the house, he observed the door open and the victim run from the house.

The victim stated that her husband, Ralph Mobley, assaulted her by shoving her into a wall.  The victim also stated that her husband pointed a handgun at her during the altercation.

Ralph Lonzo Mobley - who is the former director of the South Carolina Highway Patrol - was arrested at the scene and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

A bond hearing was scheduled for 3:00pm at the Lexington County Detention Center on Thursday.
