(Greenville-AP) September 26, 2006 - The principal of Woodmont High School in Greenville has resigned, five days after what police say was an altercation with a custodian.
The Greenville County School District says Randy Reagan turned in his resignation Monday.
Assistant Principal Bradley Griffith is temporarily in charge of the school.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has been investigating the incident.
Reagan had been on leave since the incident.
He was charged with simple assault two years ago for allegedly forcing a student to the ground to stop a verbal altercation with another student. Prosecutors later dropped the charge.
