Former SC chairman facing perjury charges
(WIS) - The former chairman of a powerful South Carolina legislative committee is now facing perjury charges.
Jim Harrison is accused of lying to a grand jury investigating Statehouse corruption.
He was indicted last month.
According to the indictment, Harrison told jurors he only worked on other politicians' campaigns for consultant Richard Quinn. The 67-year-old is also being charged with criminal conspiracy and misconduct from a previous indictment.
Harrison goes to trial October 22nd on the conspiracy and misconduct charges.
