RCSD looking for suspect who led them on chase, crashed vehicle into home

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff's Department is looking for a suspect who led them on a chase Monday morning.

RCSD deputies initiated a traffic stop around 8:30 a.m. on a dark-colored Hyundai that was reported stolen. The suspect refused to stop and a brief car chase ensued in the Apple Valley community, with the suspect's vehicle striking multiple mailboxes.

The suspect fled from the moving vehicle, which then struck a residence. The car is now immobile.

The chase occurred in the Apple Valley community and ended on Apple Valley Road. Deputies are still searching for the suspect who was described by RCSD as a black male wearing a dark t-shirt and shorts.

There are no further descriptions of the suspect at this time.

No injuries were reported and deputies do not believe there is a threat to the public at this time.
