COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Think of this as your opportunity to use your weekend shopping spree as a philanthropic effort.
On Saturday, Sept. 8, Union United Methodist Church will host its 7th Annual Martha's Market. The market will feature more than 70 vendors and craftsmen selling boutique clothing, crafts, and other handmade goods. And you're not the only one who will be happy about the retail therapy.
The money raised will benefit the Richland School District 5 Snack pack program as well as the Carolina Survivor clinic. The Snack Pack program provides food for kids who don't have enough to eat over the weekend and makes sure they don't go hungry.
Meanwhile, Carolina Survivor Clinic provides care for refugees in Columbia.
The market will be on Sept. 8 at Union UMC at 7582 Woodrow Street in Irmo. Admission is free and you can bring monetary or food donations to support the Snack Pack program.
Sponsorship opportunities for the event are still available. For more information, you can contact Michelle Cochcroft at firstname.lastname@example.org or (803)-463-1586.
