Two injured in West Columbia shooting, LCSD continues investigation

WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Lexington County Sheriff's Department responded to a shooting in West Columbia that injured two people on Thursday.
Deputies responded to the 100 block of Riverbend Drive around 9:30 p.m. in response to the shooting.
Officials say that following a dispute, an unidentified person opened fire, hitting two bystanders who were unrelated to the incident. The two victims are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
LCSD deputies will be increasing patrol in the area as they continue to follow leads. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and said there is no immediate threat to the public.
