RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - South Carolina Highway Patrol is searching for a third suspect in relation to a fatal hit and run crash that killed a bicyclist.

Around 11:30 a.m. a bicyclist traveling westbound on Lake Carolina Boulevard approached a stop sign in the right-hand lane at the same time as a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Hardscrabble Road.

A second vehicle traveling westbound in the left-hand lane of Lake Carolina Boulevard attempted to make a left turn but failed to yield the right of way to the first vehicle.

Attempting to avoid a collision, the first vehicle swerved to the right causing them to hit the bicyclist before driving off the right side of the road.

The Richland County Coroner's Office has identified the bicyclist as Justin Turner, 40, of Elgin. The coroner said Turner died of blunt force trauma to the head as a result of the collision.

The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene according to authorities and SCHP are trying to identify them.

If you have any about this incident or the identity of the driver of the second vehicle you are asked to call 1-800-768-1501 or by dialing *HP (*47).
