SCDOC releases arrest warrant for officer accused of assaulting inmate

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Department of Corrections has released an arrest warrant that was filed against a Correctional Officer Captain.
Travis Laquinton Reese is charged with misconduct in office along with third-degree assault & battery.
Reese's arrest warrant says on August 1, 2018, he pushed an inmate to the ground while the inmate was wearing leg restraints and handcuffed behind his back. The assault happened at the Broad River Correctional Institution located at 44444 Broad River Road.
The warrant also says the victim provided a statement about what happened, and investigators also have recorded video footage.
Reese is being held in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
