COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information regarding the assault of a US Postal Service Letter Carrier.

Yesterday around 4 pm one male and one female entered the Exxon station located on the corner of Gervais and Bull streets of downtown Columbia.

Authorities say the woman approached the postal worker and asked to use a phone.

The worker dialed the number and handed it to the woman, who walked off with the phone before getting into a vehicle.

The worker tried to reach into the vehicle as it took off and hung on to the side of the car as it drove down the road before finally falling off.

The postal worker was not seriously injured.

If you have any information regarding this case, you are asked to call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455.
