CPD looking for suspects possibly involved in multiple armed robberies
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia Police investigators are looking for two armed robbery suspects.
The men are accused of demanding money and cigarettes from and threatening the store clerk at gunpoint at the Li'l Cricket gas station shortly before 10:30 p.m. on August 15.
A witness reports seeing the pair escape the location in a black Ford Taurus with South Carolina license plate MTC 672.
No one was injured during the incident.
A similar armed robbery occurred August 11 at 11:30 a.m. at the Gaz-Bah gas station on West Beltline Boulevard.
A man resembling the armed robbery suspect from the Li'l Cricket (in the black T-shirt), is accused of threatening to shoot the store clerk if she didn't comply with his demands to hand over cash.
Investigators are working to determine if the suspects are connected to both crimes.
CPD is working with the Forest Acres Police and Richland County Sheriff's Departments on similar armed robbery incidents.
