(WIS) - Seven candidates are running in a special election for the Senate seat left vacant after John Courson resigned following a guilty plea on official misconduct in June.

The following people are running for the office, with the primary happening on Aug. 14 and the general election happening on Nov. 6:

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. To find your polling place, click here. If it is necessary, a primary runoff will happen on Aug. 28.

SC Senate 20 covers area of Lexington and Richland counties including Columbia, Irmo, Lake Murray, Seven Oaks and St. Andrews.
