LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Six people were transported to the hospital and are recovering after sustaining non-life threatening effects of an ammonia leak in Lexington County, according to Lexington Fire Department officials.

Crews responded to the hazardous material situation at the Otis Spunkmeyer building in West Columbia on Saturday morning after an ammonia leak was found on the roof.

Lexington Fire, Columbia Fire, EMS, and the Otis Spunkmeyer Hazardous Material team are still on the scene. Officials say the leak is clearing up quickly.

Lexington Fire officials say there is no immediate threat to the public. People in the surrounding area are safe.
