CHAPIN, SC (WIS) - Richland County deputies say both suspects wanted in connection to over 20 car break-ins have been arrested.
The second suspect, identified as 21-year-old Christian Lawrence Brown, was arrested in a manhunt that took place in the area near the Peak exit on I-26 after deputies received a tip that Brown was in the area.
Earlier that same day, 21-year-old Junior Jacinthe was arrested in a manhunt that took place near Spring Hill High School on Canterfield Road.
Deputies responded to over 20 car break-ins in the Chapin area over the course of 24 hours.
According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle believed to be connected to vehicle break-ins in the area around 6:30 a.m. When the deputy tried to stop the car, suspects fled the vehicle on foot.
Jacinthe was apprehended.
Jacinthe is facing multiple charges in Richland County but may also be connected to other crimes in the Lexington, Chapin, and Irmo jurisdictions. The investigation is still on-going.
Jacinthe and Brown both received a $150,000 bond and ankle monitoring devices at a hearing on Friday. Both men are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention.
