COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Are you ready for some football? First be ready for some reading! As part of Richland Library's Summer Learning Challenge, Pigskin Poets reinforces the importance of setting and reaching goals in an effort to help reduce the effects of summer learning loss.

USC football players, cheerleaders, Cocky and storyteller Darion McCloud will capture the attention of your children - any and all ages invited - at Friday's Pigskin Poets 2018.

Richland Library is teaming with the Gamecocks once again this year after so many years proving this event to be extremely successful. In fact, because the reading event is so popular, the organizers have had to move it to the Drew Wellness Center located at 2101 Walker Solomon Way in Columbia. Pigskin Poets is Friday, July 20 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The annual event was co-created by local professional actor and storyteller Darion McCloud. He continues to be a favorite of summer learners for the last 22 years.

Go in your garnet and black gear and join McCloud and the USC team as they huddle off the field for an afternoon of stories, games, and autographs.
