Sumter police make arrest in student's shooting death

(Sumter - AP) September 17, 2005 - Four people have been arrested after a 16-year-old student riding his bicycle was shot and killed earlier this month.

Lakewood High School student De-Andre Cover died September Fourth from a gunshot wound.

Police arrested 37-year-old Steven Galloway and his girlfriend and two acquaintances earlier this week. Galloway has been has been charged with murder and three counts of assault and battery with intent to kill.

Sumter Police Chief Patty Patterson says Galloway chased Cover and three other teenagers after he thought they had broken into his car.

26-year-old Andrea Davis has been charged with being an accessory before the murder.

33-year-old Christopher Fickens and 27-year-old Brandi Carter were charged with being accessories after the murder.
