ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation following a shooting that took place this past weekend.
OCSO officials said a 35-year-old man was taken to receive medical attention after suffering what are believed to be two gunshot wounds. Investigators were informed of the shooting early Sunday morning after a man reported an attempted armed robbery.
The man said he and a friend were headed to a part at Corona Apartments. When they arrived around 3:30 a.m., three armed suspects demanded access to a business in North where one of the victims worked. At the business, which is located on Savannah Highway, one of the victims escaped the suspects while the second man was shot.
The North Police Department is handling the investigation involving the robbery allegations. North Police Lin Shirer said the vehicle used by the suspects has been impounded after it was recovered later Sunday.
A description of the suspects has not been released. The condition of the victim who was shot also has not been released.
