LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A 17-year-old in Lexington County is dead after a collision involving a Freight Liner truck and an ATV, according to the Lexington County Coroner.

Bailey Sexton Endsley, of Lexington, was pronounced dead at the scene on Truex Road near Neely Wingard Road just before 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a Freight Liner truck was traveling east on Truex Road when it hit the ATV, operated by Endsley, that was attempting to cross Truex Road. WIS is told that Endsley failed to yield the right of way. Endsley was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to SCHP.

Endsley suffered "multiple traumatic injuries," according to the coroner. The driver of the Freight Liner truck did not receive any injuries and stopped immediately to render aid.

SCHP continues to investigate.
