Arrest made in argument turned shooting in Columbia

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - An argument that turned into a shooting that left one man with a gunshot wound to his foot has resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old.

Rodney Starling Holmes, who was the injured party, will be charged with felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature for his role in the incident.

According to Columbia police, witnesses on the scene state that several male individuals were arguing in the parking lot of Beauty World on North Main Street just after 7 p.m. on June 28. Holmes was shot in the foot and was located at a local hospital.

Holmes was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center after being released from the hospital.

The investigation is still ongoing as investigators work on identifying other individuals involved. CPD says that evidence was collected at the scene.
