RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A suspect accused of shooting a person in Richland County fired shots at deputies when they came to arrest him.

Tyler Westbury, 23, is now facing four counts of attempted murder.

Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department said they responded to a shots fired call on the 4700 block of Faulkland Road around 7:30 p.m. A male victim was found with a gunshot wound to his body. He was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Deputies were able to get a description of the suspect and located him on Bonnie Forest Boulevard. As they tried to approach him, Westbury opened fire multiple times. None of the deputies returned fire, however, and the man was arrested without any injuries. None of the deputies were injured either.

RCSD continues to investigate the incident.
