Fire at vacant home near Farrow Road knocks down utility line, roadway shutdown

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant home Wednesday afternoon that caused a portion of High Circle near Farrow Road to be shut down.

Firefighters said when they arrived at the house on the 800 block of High Circle there was heavy fire at the front of the house. They were able to get the fire under control without any damage to any of the nearby homes.

A utility line did come down, however, causing officials to shut down the roadway.

Check back for updates on when the roadway will reopen.

A cause of the fire has not been released.
