RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Two teens in Richland County are behind bars after a pizza delivery driver was held at gunpoint for his pizzas.
El-Hajj Stanley, 18, and an unidentified 16-year-old were taken into custody after investigators determined that they were involved in the attempted armed robbery.
The call occurred between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Deputies said the delivery guy arrived at a home on the 200 block of Pintail Lane to deliver an order of pizzas totaling $128. The homeowner told the pizzaman that no one had ordered pizzas at the home. After the delivery driver returned to his car, two people approached the car claiming they were the ones who ordered the pizza. When the delivery man asked for payment, one of the subjects pulled a gun on him. The driver sped away from the two people in fear for his life.
An RCSD K-9 deputy led deputies to a neighboring house where five teens, whose ages ranged from 16 to 18, were inside. A search of the home turned up a gun that was reported stolen out of a home in Florence County.
All five teens were detained for questioning. Two of the teens were arrested and the other three were released.
Deputies say one of the suspects told them he "just wanted the pizza" while he was being questioned.
Both of the teens arrested are being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Deputies say this is not the first pizza delivery robbery attempt in the area. On June 20, deputies responded to the 100 block of Pintail Lane when a suspect stole cash and $80 worth of food from another delivery man.
Investigators are working to determine if the two incidents are connected.
