The Richland County Sheriff's Department initiated their investigation Saturday night with Lexington County officials assisting, saying that the call occurred around 6:15 p.m. SCDNR has since taken command of the incident.

DNR said the victim was on a boat with some friends and family when he jumped into the lake and never came back up. The people called authorities after they tried to find him but couldn't.

The incident is occurred roughly 500 yards away from the "Coast Guard" station, per RCSD.

Last Sunday, a 47-year-old man disappeared near the Liberty Tap Room & Grill while he was swimming with his family.
