$150K federal drug crises grant awarded to educate Lexington schools

(WIS) - A $150,000 grant has been awarded to Midlands schools to educate students about the dangers of opioid abuse.

The three year federal grant was given to LRADAC, which is the not for profit agency that fights alcohol and drug abuse in Lexington and Richland Counties.

The grant will be used to increase awareness about the consequences of opioid and prescription drug abuse in Lexington School District One middle and high schools.

It will also be used to work toward reducing the availability and appeal of those drugs.
