3 arrested, charged in Kershaw County for multiple car break-ins

CAMDEN, SC (WIS) - Three men in Kershaw County were arrested and charged by Kershaw deputies for breaking into multiple cars early Tuesday morning.

Sean Taylor, 21, Dakota Daugherty, 21, and Jonathan Ray, 22, were charged with multiple counts of breaking into motor vehicles and criminal conspiracy. Taylor also faces a charge of possession of a stolen handgun.

The men were caught in the city of Camden through a joint operation with the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department and the Camden Police Department. Investigators were able to determine the men had broken into at least 11 vehicles in Kershaw County. They were also connected to break-ins that happened outside of Kershaw County.

Daugherty and Taylor were both wearing backpacks with stolen items inside from the break-ins when they were arrested. A stolen handgun was found by deputies in an area where Taylor had been right before he was arrested.

Ray has been previously arrested multiple crimes including public disorderly conduct and burglary. Daugherty has previously been arrested in Florida for charges that include aggressive battery with great bodily harm and obstruction of justice/ tampering with a witness. Taylor has no known previous arrest record.

All three men are being held in the Kershaw County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
