COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - After reports of smoke inside a downtown Columbia high-rise building brought emergency officials to the scene, Columbia Fire Department officials have reopened a major artery into the city.
Fire officials were called to the scene of the BB&T building after receiving a call about smoke on the 26th floor of the city's tallest building.
Fire investigators say the smoke came from a heating unit inside the building.
As a result of the many emergency officials on the scene, officials closed outbound traffic on Gervais and Assembly streets.
