Midlands residents win lottery money

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Three people from the Midlands have won money from the South Carolina State Lottery.

A Lexington couple won $1 million in the Gold Millions Second Chance Promotion.

They entered a non-winning Gold Millions scratch-off ticket several months ago through the Education Lottery's Players' Club. That entry was selected as the winner on Tuesday from the more than 622,000 entries received.

The wife told Lottery officials she has her heart set on a new home.

And a Camden woman won $125,000 while vacationing with family in Myrtle Beach.

"It was a good trip," she admitted to lottery officials when she returned home.

The winner, who doesn't usually play the Lottery, said she splurged on a $5 Money Madness ticket, because she was on trip and family members were buying tickets. Circle K #2723057 in North Myrtle Beach sold the winning ticket and will receive a $1,250 commission.

"I relaxed after that," she said. "We'll go back to Myrtle Beach next year."
