NEWBERRY COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Three men arrested and charged in connection with a 2015 Little Mountain home invasion and homicide all have pleaded guilty for their roles in the incident, according to the Eighth Circuit Solicitor's Office.
DeCarlos Satterwhite, Tyler Elkins, and Jermaz Dreher all entered guilty pleas during a hearing on Monday.
All three men, including a fourth, identified as Keon Kelly, were wanted in connection with a July 29 incident in Newberry County that left Ronnion Danyell Barron, 32, dead from a gunshot wound to a head.
According to investigators, the group went to Barron's home on Ponderosa Lane with the motive to steal drugs and money. However, the plan changed when investigators said Kelly shot Barron in the head.
After attempting to rob two other men who pulled up to the scene, the group quickly fled.
Days later on Aug. 6, deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department located Kelly at a home on Broad River Road and Piney Grove Road. A standoff ensued but ended after Kelly took his own life. The other three men were all rounded up days later.
A judge sentenced Elkins to 25 years in prison, Satterwhite to 15 years in prison, and Dreher to 10 years in prison.
