Orangeburg man arrested for high-speed chase in September

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Deputies in Orangeburg County have arrested a man wanted on several charges related to a high-speed chase that took place in September.

Bobby Miller, 38, of Orangeburg, was arrested late Wednesday night. Bond was set at a hearing Thursday morning at about $11,000 on four charges and an outstanding warrant for domestic violence.

Authorities say Miller was operating a Jeep Cherokee suspiciously at 2:30 a.m. on September 17 on Rosedale Drive. According to the incident report, Miller took the keys to the vehicle without the owner's permission nearly two hours before the deputies found him driving the vehicle.

When deputies stopped to investigate, Miller sped off in the Jeep leading officers on a pursuit that reached more than 80 mph before crashing on Ridley Drive.

Miller is charged with failure to stop for blue light, use of a vehicle without permission, and third or greater offense of driving under suspension.
